LESS GEAR WINS!
I know. Is it even possible in 2024 to not buy every single little thing that comes out? I think so... In this video, I break down what I use when I'm out making photos and I share some mental notes that help me focus and stay calm, enjoying the process. Let me know what gear you use for street.

Friends! How many of you are fans of instant film? How about Ricoh GR fans who love instant film? lol Today, I explore both! I currently own the instax Mini8 and the instax WIDE300 both have cost me a lot in terms of printing. So, when I finally picked up the instax Square Link Printer last year, I started saving money on prints right away, you select your best photos before you print. A great solution. NOW, it can't replace the feeling of pressing the shutter on an instant film camera, I believe there's a time and place to have that experience.

I love the option of making a project with the "film feel" but with consistent results when printing. Using my Ricoh GR IIIx in square format (1:1) I printed off the results on the instax Square Link Printer via their app (search "instax square link app"). I also used my NEW RICOH RECIPES as the blueprint for all images heading to the instax printer. I thought it was pretty cool to see Soul Searching, Grit City BW II, and Faded Dreams in an analog format. I loved some of the results, no product is without faults. But the process provided so much growth! What are your thoughts on my results?

I wanted to explore making paintings with my street photography, "messy street" if you will. Inspired by these masters of the unique approach and techniques: Daido Moriyama - https://www.moriyamadaido.com/en/ Olga Karlovac - https://www.olga-karlovac-photography... Saul Leiter - https://www.saulleiterfoundation.org/ I learned a lot through the process of making this video, including looking back into my archives. What a thrill! Join me. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
