There's a first time for everything. For me it was experiencing Scotch whiskey. But not just any Scotch, The Macallan 1824 Series, a sophisticated collection of four core expressions – Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby.

This past week I was invited to Harry Rosen to experience The Macallan Lounge, an interactive and luxurious pop up inside First Canadian Place. Building off of last year's successful partnership The Macallan and Harry Rosen have once again created a unique space for their clients and guests to taste The Macallan 1824 Series while shopping for classic and modern pieces by Harry Rosen. On Monday, November 16th through Thursday, November 20th you'll have an opportunity to experience the Macallan lounge.

Two characteristics that stood out for me, how smooth the whiskey actually feels in your mouth and the rich colours that occur naturally from the Spanish Sherry-seasoned oak casks. I was able to sample five distinct Single Malt's by The Macallan including Gold, Amber, Ruby, Sienna and their newest and most exclusive "Rare Cast". Remember, this was my first ever Scotch tasting so it took a little getting use to. I now feel I have a much better understanding of scents, flavours, tastes.
